I’ve started doing this thing, It’s kind of helped me but I haven’t pinpointed why yet.
When I want to say something like:
I had a good time at the hangout but now I’m so tired.
^^^ This sentence makes it sound and feel like it was good I guess, but maybe not worth it due to the resulting effects.
But now I’ve been saying:
I had a good time at the hangout AND now I’m so tired.
^^^ I had a good time. I am also tired.
These things are both true and don’t negate each other.
Other example:
“My kitchen is clean but I haven’t done the laundry yet.”
^^^ somehow takes my one accomplishment and diminishes it by including the stuff I failed to get done
“My kitchen is clean and I haven’t done the laundry yet.”
^^^ indicates I’ve accomplished a thing and I have intentions of doing more at some point and what I did doesn’t lose value by what I didn’t get to.
What do you think of this technique?
Best of luck!
